Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 pounds Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, sliced, then chopped into 1” pieces)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 12 tablespoons all-purpose flour (if needed)
  • 2 boxes instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 ounces each)
  • 3 1/2 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip whipped topping (thawed)
  • 21 cinnamon graham crackers
  • 16 ounces caramel apple dip (Marzetti brand)

Instructions

  1. Cook the apples: In a large saucepan, combine diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon over medium-low heat until tender. If needed, sprinkle with flour to thicken, then cool.
  2. Make the pudding mixture: Whisk pudding mix and milk until smooth; stir in sour cream and Cool Whip.
  3. Layer the cake: In a 9×13 baking pan, layer graham crackers, half of the apple mixture, and half of the pudding. Repeat layers and top with more graham crackers.
  4. Prepare the caramel: Heat caramel dip in a microwave-safe bowl until softened; spread over the top layer.
  5. Chill: Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least eight hours or overnight before serving.
