Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by cooking cranberries, sugar, and butter in a saucepan until syrupy; stir in vanilla and cool.
  2. Activate yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar, sprinkling yeast on top, and letting sit until frothy.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine remaining warm milk, melted butter, Greek yogurt, egg, vanilla extract, orange blossom water, zest, salt, sugar, yeast mixture, and flour; mix into a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth; place in a greased bowl to rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread cooled cranberry filling over it and roll tightly.
  6. Cut the log into equal pieces; place on parchment-lined baking sheet to rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Prepare glaze by whisking confectioners’ sugar with orange blossom water and enough milk for desired consistency; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
