  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 3-quart baking dish.
  2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water for about 7 minutes; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour until combined.
  4. Gradually add half-and-half while whisking until smooth; then add whole milk.
  5. Whisk constantly until thickened, then stir in spices and mixed cheeses until melted.
  6. Combine drained pasta with the cheese sauce, layering half in the baking dish followed by cheese and remaining pasta mixture.
