  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth and pour into a greased baking pan.
  3. Bake according to package instructions until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cooling completely before cutting into cubes.
  4. In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth using an electric mixer.
  5. Gradually add powdered sugar while mixing until fully incorporated. Stir in maple syrup and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans gently.
  7. In a large bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form using an electric mixer.
  8. Carefully fold whipped cream into the cheesecake mixture until blended.
  9. Begin layering in your trifle dish or glass bowls by adding cubes of pumpkin spice cake at the bottom.
