Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Make the peanut butter dough by beating together the peanut butter, softened butter, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the peanut butter mixture until just combined.
  3. For the brownie dough, whisk melted butter with white sugar until smooth; then mix in cocoa powder. Add egg and vanilla extract before folding in remaining flour, baking powder, salt, and chocolate chips.
  4. Chill both doughs in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. Scoop portions of each dough side by side on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use a toothpick to swirl them together gently.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes until tops are crackly but centers are soft.
  7. Cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
