  • 3 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground sumac
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (more or less to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges
  • Flat leaf parsley (minced, optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry and place it skin-side down on a plate.
  2. In a bowl, combine smoked paprika, ground sumac, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the salmon and coat with the spice mixture.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat; add salmon skin-side down and cook for 2-3 minutes until blackened.
  5. Flip the salmon, add melted butter to the skillet, and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until flaky.
  6. Serve with lemon wedges.
